Booking choice: The Las Caletas day tour, from $109 per person. Check dates Compare the options below
Only Vallarta Adventures, who lease and run the cove, land boats at Las Caletas. That keeps the choice simple: every "Las Caletas tour" puts you on one of their boats from the Puerto Magico terminal, and the main difference between sellers is the price you pay and the fees listed.
The figures below come from the live Viator listing, the operator's own site and other listings we checked in October 2026. Prices move with the season, so the checkout price is the one that counts.
The quick answer
The Las Caletas day tour is from $109 per person on Viator in 2026, with children 4 to 11 at a reduced rate and children 0 to 3 free. At check-in, the listing adds a MX$40 port fee in cash and a $20 access fee per person. Tips, towels, spa treatments, scuba and the sea lion and ray encounter are extra.

How much is the Las Caletas tour in 2026?
From $109 per person on Viator for the full day, which runs about 7 hours with around 4 hours on the island.
The same cove is sold in several ways, and the gap between them is bigger than you might expect for what is the same boat from the same terminal.
| Option | From (adult) | What you get | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Las Caletas day tour | $109 | Boat, buffet lunch, open bar, activities, kids' parks | Viator |
| Las Caletas day, operator's site | $111.30 promo (list $159) | The same day | Vallarta Adventures |
| Las Caletas plus dolphins combo | $174.30 | The day plus a dolphin programme | Vallarta Adventures |
| Reseller listings (e.g. Monkey Adventures) | $179 to $182 | The same day from the same Puerto Magico terminal | Viator |
| Alma night show | $119 | Sunset cruise, dinner, open bar, show | Viator |
| Discover Scuba at Las Caletas | $189 | One guided dive, gear and lunch | Viator |

Check dates for the Las Caletas day tourWhat does the ticket include?
The boat both ways, a buffet lunch and open bar, snorkel gear, kayaks and paddleboards, the cooking lesson, margarita class and mezcal tasting, and the kids' and teen parks.
The sample menu lists a salad bar, ceviche, fried chicken, grilled dorado with adobo sauce and BBQ ribs, with brownies, coconut tart and passion fruit cheesecake for dessert. Hammocks and the nature walks are free to use. You can board at the Puerto Magico terminal in Puerto Vallarta or at the Nuevo Vallarta meeting point.

What fees do you pay at the dock?
Two, per person: a MX$40 port fee in cash (pesos) and a $20 access fee, both listed by the operator as not included in the Viator price.
Check in at least 30 minutes before departure to pay them. Read the amount and the currency before you hand over money: one guest in May 2026 reports being asked for $40 in US dollars per person instead of 40 pesos. The operator's written instructions say pesos. MX$40 is only a couple of dollars, so bring small peso notes.
What costs extra on the island?
Tips, towels, spa treatments, the sea lion and ray encounter and scuba; the operator's own site lists the encounter at $39 and a scuba lesson at $49.
The operator's site also lists a primate encounter at $39 and massages from about $15. Souvenir photos are sold on the day. None of these are needed to enjoy the day: the beach, the water gear, the food and the drinks are all covered.

Is it cheaper on Viator, the operator's site or a reseller?
Viator's $109 was the lowest price we found, just under the operator's own $111.30 promotion; resellers charged $179 to $182 for a day on the same cove.
The operator's list price is $159, so the promotion may not always be there. The reseller listings we checked (Monkey Adventures) check you in at the same Puerto Magico terminal for the same boats, and their fee notes differ (one lists a 33-peso port tax, another a $2 dock fee). Whatever you book, compare the final price with fees included.
The lowest price we found, on the operator's own boats: check your date on Viator.
Check dates for the Las Caletas day tourHow much do children pay?
Children 4 to 11 pay a reduced child rate, children 0 to 3 go free, and anyone 12 and over pays the adult price.
The port and access fees are listed per person, so ask at check-in whether they apply to your children. The Kids Adventure Park (4 to 11) and the Teen Adventure Cove are in the ticket. See Las Caletas with kids for the age and height rules.

What should you budget for the whole day?
Plan on the ticket, the $20 access fee and MX$40 in pesos per person, plus tips for the crew and anything extra you want on the island.
Getting to the terminal is on you: hotel pickup is not included, and a taxi or rideshare to Puerto Magico is the easy option. Food and drinks are covered from boarding to the return, so there is little else to pay for unless you add a massage, an encounter or photos.

Want to dive rather than snorkel? The Discover Scuba day adds a guided dive of about 40 minutes with a PADI divemaster, gear and lunch.
Explore Discover Scuba at Las CaletasIs the Las Caletas tour good value?
Usually yes, if you use the day: food, an open bar and all the water gear for about the price of a mid-range boat trip.
It is weaker value if you only want a quiet beach, or if you arrive late and lose island time. The flagship rates 4.5 from 847 reviews. For the full verdict, read is Las Caletas worth it.
